My Little Lady {Luiza Grace}

I can’t believe that just last Friday I was in the middle of an extremely hard labor and add to that back labor and wondering if it would ever end!! But here we are ONE WEEK later and I have fallen in love again and can now officially say that I am a mother of three beautiful babes. Luiza graced us with her presence at exactly 15 minutes into April 13th and all of us in our little home can’t stop oooing and aaaaing at every single little sound and movement she makes. Thank you to everyone who wished us well and prayed for her speedy and healthy arrival. She truly is my little warrior and has a big appetite to back it up. Here is a glimpse into our first week. It is amazing the changes that take place in such a short amount of time.

Alysia & Garrett {WEDDING} 3.2.2013

Last weekend, Alysia & Garrett got married!!! AND…..I wasn’t there! :( Unfortunately this time around, I had to stay all the way in California while they celebrated their special day because apparently me flying with such a big prego belly does not comply with TSA standards! SO fortunately, my dear friend and super talented photographer, Jasmine swooped in to help me out! Jasmine has been a big help this past year and is my go to photographer when I need a second shooter! Here is a quick sneak peak of Alysia & Garrett’s wedding day! I so wish I could have been there but than again just me getting out of chair to a standing position these days is a big accomplishment! ;) Enjoy the photos! ~Sara

{Discovering It All}

Well…..now I know it has been several weeks since my last post and it feels weird just sitting here writing and posting a blog to begin with when I have loads of boxes still piled up, taxes to be done and gosh darn it I’m 8 months pregnant and really just want to nap! BUT with all that going on around me, I just had to make it a point today to post something…and I started thinking….WHAT am I going to post???!! I have posted all my wedding/session sneak peaks, I’m FINALLY up to date on all of that and since we just moved to California……AND I’m so pregnant…I’m obviously not doing any sort of photographing for clients right now. BUT then I remembered that I DO have something to post….

Long before we moved to California, I kept telling myself and others who would listen that this move was more than just relocation. It was an opportunity to do things differently and to take the time and just discover. Discovery for me has sort of meant that instead of just focusing on my business, I would really turn the lens around and take a good look at what is going on around me, in my environment. I thought that this whole new venture would go perfect with all that is going on in our lives here at this moment. The move, the new baby, the new home, our new community…and also to just take a moment and enjoy those everyday little events of life that I find amusing and never want to forget. So in the spirit of my new theme and motivation, I wanted to post a few photos I did of my boy. These were actually taken several months ago and it was one of those moments where I had to sneak to grab my camera and hide across the hallway while he successfully dressed himself for the day. I’m so happy I got this! He of course clued into my purpose but continued on in spite of it all. I love him to 100x around the moon and back and I especially love all the effort he put into buttoning that shirt! ;)

Hello everyone!!! I have been a little silent on here these past couple weeks due to so many changes going on within our lives! Right after Christmas, our little family finally made the official move to California….cat and all!! We are enjoying the beautiful weather here and so far California has not failed to welcome us with arms wide open! We are currently still waiting for certain parts of renovation on our new home to be completed, so in the mean time we are staying in a hotel near the farm, spending days at the home cleaning and getting rooms ready for the move….and of course soaking up the Cali sun. Within just a few days of being here we took several trips to the beach and were able to see dolphins, whales, sea otters and seals all jumping and playing in the water. It has been amazing and I’m so excited about our new venture! NOW to share with you a little sneak peak from the last wedding of the year right before the holidays. Michael & Nancy celebrated there special day with all their loved ones on December 22nd and despite the cold, it was so beautiful outside and we could not have asked for a more beautiful winter day!! ~Sara

Reception night was a blast…filled with a lot of great food, dancing and surprises which included special introduction videos for the family members and a flash mob skit/video with some Gangnam style mixed in! ;) And of course a photo booth! Loved working with these two and getting to celebrate with their friends and family! ~Sara

Sanskruti & Sandip {MARRIED} Part 1

Right after the Thanksgiving holiday I had the opportunity to photograph these two celebrate their marriage with all their friends and family! What an awesome experience for me and just going through and picking out a few photos that represent just the ceremony alone was extremely hard. There were lots of laughs and tears during the ceremony and I’m so thankful that I could be a part of it! Tomorrow I will be posting the reception photos……which includes tons of dancing of course!! Vicki & Amish {ENGAGED}

Last weekend I had the chance to photograph this beautiful couple in downtown Chicago! It was pouring rain right before our session but warm outside and I was praying for the sun to come out! And it did! Loved their outfit choices and I really just had such a great time with these two and am looking forward to photographing their wedding in June! Thanks again Vicki & Amish! ~Sara

Nancy & Edward {ENGAGED}

Wow we could not have picked a better day for these engagement photos!! We scheduled this day months prior and we got LUCKY!! Beautiful warm sun and tall dry grass just perfect for what they wanted to do with their session. I was doing cartwheels inside my head just slap happy with how gorgeous the weather was and how perfectly this whole session came together! Another friend (all the way back since kindergarten) and her family!! I have had the opportunity to photograph them every year and those boys just keep getting taller and cuter! Watch out girls!!!
